Happy Surfing Okinawa guest house / surf school / surf guide / stand up paddle board / snorkel camp daily wave report. Typhoon swell pulsing strong today as the typhoon pushes just west of Okinawa island. Strong winds, rain squalls and fast rising swells kept the surfing windows pretty short at most spots.

spent a couple hours watching a favorite spot with a bit too side wind and fast push of waves and tide

This left had a short window and may have been the best option. 

But we opted for the unknown and headed to a wave that cannot be checked...a roll of the dice

a long walk around the bay

and a half mile paddle out around the corner to get a look at the wave

solid and a bit unruly but doable for and hour and a half

until super currents , tide push and large sets pushed us all back around the corner to the inside

where we rode a last little left deep in the bay and pushed to the rocks

tide surge and everyone safe back to shore

as even half a mile from the wave the whole bay just washed out!!

this zone is normally flat until your round the corner to see the real point...not today..waves all the way through!!

hard day...will see what tomorrow brings!!
